Involving families is very important to us here at Viewpark Montessori Nursery. Our aim is to build relationships with children and their families which, in turn, ensures a strong connection between home and nursery. Throughout the year, we plan many events to involve our families and to allow our parental partnerships to thrive. We welcome families for afternoon teas, sports races, open weeks, parent workshops, fundraising activities, graduation, Christmas / summer fayre’s and so much more.
We welcome feedback with open arms as we believe there is always room for improvement. At Viewpark Montessori Nursery, we always reflect on events we have organised and ensure to consider all feedback we have received. We will then plan for our next event with wonderful new ideas. Throughout the year we will also ask families if they / or anyone they know would be able to come into the nursery and share their skills and knowledge. We have had many volunteers such as; gardeners, opticians, storytellers, fire fighters, police officers, doctors and sports enthusiasts. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn from a variety of individuals from our local community.
Our Parent Committee is another wonderful aspect of our nursery, and we encourage parents to join each year in August. This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to get even more involved in nursery life, by participating in the improvement of the nursery. We have regular meetings, where we discuss various ideas that can be brought into the nursery for the children and their learning. Our parent committee members are;
Fiona Aitken, Caroline Fraser, Karen Hasson, Bill Hume, Louise Murphy, Victoria Murray, Lauren Walker and Jennifer Young.
